Committee Reports:
- Constitution Committee:
- Looking at two Chief Stewards, will present next meeting, interim: Paula Goetzke, Chief Steward for MSOCS - David Ruth Chief Steward for METO
- Article 5 - Officers required to be at all monthly meetings, missing no more than 2 in a year
- Article 4 - E Board required to be at all Labor management, METO and MSOCS
- Article 6 - 1 METO and 1 MSOCS E-Board will be elected each year to serve a two year term
- Amend Non VP Chief Steward to be Appointed by E-board, not elected
- Drop Impeachment article
- Grievance Committee:
- Lots of CRS changes at MSOCS
- harassment investigation
- 3rd steps
- some grievances
- Safety Committee:
- On job injury, transferred to DHS forms
- Check if doing safety check list
- Infection control, more accountability
- Looking at workers comp closer
- Health Care Social Services Committee: NA
Correspondence:
BA Report:
- Early retirement, need 15 years. Agencies shouldn't be able to opt-out, hoping to be for all classes across all agencies, still working on what classes, can fill in behind, Does not apply to corrections plan! Can not retire at 53
- Congratulate local on unbelievable fight to slow SOS redesign correspondence (great achievement)
- Remember to vote cards given out, return to council 5, they will do postage, in order to increase voter turn out
Old Business:
- Election committee continues to work on constitution
New Business:
- Save the date - 08/21/2010, Austin MN 25th anniversary of the Hormel strike
Good and Welfare:
- Motion made, seconded and carried to donate $50.00 to Hawgs for dogs - seeing eye dog program
- Mark McAffee passed away
- $50.00 donated to wildlife rehabilitation fund
- Sue Edwarhd's presented with gift card
- David - get people activated for governor's race, it is an important election year
- David Ruth sworn in
